Watch the new datamoshing video for ‘Endless’ by Grand Resort, touring in NYC this summer

When you close your eyes and listen to the music of GRAND RESORT, it’s hard to prevent waves of vibrant colors filling your mind as the Brooklyn band’s jangly pop bounces off the inner walls of your imagination. It’s all part of the experience, and now Andres M. Pichardo’s one-time bedroom-pop project is back with a frenetic new single, “Endless,” and accompanying psychedelic music video that shines in all its datamoshing glory.

The staticky clip, created by Anna Spence, also shows off Grand Resort’s second life as a full-on quartet, which 21-year-old Dominican native Pichardo rounded out upon moving to Brooklyn last year after studying at the New England Institute of Art.

“Endless” is the first offering from the band’s upcoming record, Memory Loss, the follow-up last year’s Vanguard Dreams LP. I wrote about that album and its many excellent singles quite a bit in the Boston Phoenix, which you can recap here, here, and here.

Though no Boston dates have been planned (I believe their last area gig was at a basement space in Allston last summer), Grand Resort do have quite a bit of New York shows to fill their upcoming months; their summer tour itinerary should be sponsored by one of those I <3 New York shirts. Full dates after the Bandcamp, where you can also preview “Endless” without the aid of the YouTube clip.
