Is this the new album artwork to the upcoming MGMT record? Does it come with a gold coin? Is it better/worst than the cartoon surf cat from Congratulations?
These are all the important questions this Monday morning after the New York duo posted a series of images on their homepage, whoismgmt.com, and tweeted out the link with the text “new album cover.” Is it one of the images included in the GIF? Or is it ALL OF THEM ALL AT ONCE?!?!
According to wiki: “The album will feature a variety of unique visual elements to accompany and illuminate the new music via ‘The Optimizer,’ which provides listeners a simultaneously aural & optical listening experience featuring video & CGI work, and will be available as part of an enhanced album package on all commercial formats.”
Whoa. The new self-titled record is out September 17 via Columbia, and it’s MGMT’s first LP since 2010.
