Put down that razor: The Boston Facial Hair Fiasco returns in October
Gentlemen, start your beard engines.
After successful bouts of whisker worship at Church and even a tickled tango down in Texas, the Boston Facial Hair Fiasco returns this fall, stroking it proudly over at the Middle East in Cambridge on Saturday, October 5 (advance tickets here). And this time, it’s hairier than ever, with a boozy, beard-y rock and roll lineup that includes Mellow Bravo and Black Thai as well as the Americana stomp of Cask Mouse and Tigerman WHOA!.
What to expect? Just a little of everything.
“We brought the Fiasco to Texas for SXSW and proved it wasn’t just a Boston party,” says organizer Pete Boyd of Tall Boy Industries. “Now we are back and taking it to a much bigger venue. We loved doing it at Church but had clearly outgrown the room. The Middle East downstairs can accommodate the crowd and still allow us to throw an intimate party with Narragansett beer, rock and roll and beards! We’ll have some other treats for party-goers as well.”
The categories for this upcoming competition will include the following: Best Fake Beard, Best Partial Beard, Best Mustache (Editor’s note: Non-Natasha division), Best Full Beard (Groomed), Best Full Beard (Natural), and Best Freestyle Beard.
Now we know it’s still summer, but like Morrissey once sang, these things take time. So check out the participating bands below, and put down that razor. You have less than two months get damn smooth.
