VMvsic: Charli XCX – You (Ha Ha Ha)

VMusic_Logo.005.005
[dropcap]B[/dropcap]y now we all know the deal: Charli XCX wrote “I Love It.” But this is no sympathy tale. While Icona Pop are riding shotgun on the fast lane to Fame City, we’re in the back of the van tipping 40s with Charli, getting low low low to her breakout hit “You (Ha Ha Ha)”. A lock for our Best Jams of 2013 joint arriving in December, “You” is a grinder electro anthem made all the more better by Charlotte Aitchison ready to blast chumps in the music video. Her 2013 debut True Romance should have been more respected. But at 20 years old, there’s much left to hear. Catch Charli XCX live at the Sinclair in Cambridge on November 12.
