More former child star tragedy: Gibby from ‘iCarly’ is now a dubstep producer

So we’re still emotionally reeling 24 hours after the MTV Video Music Awards, and started wondering what, exactly, someone like Miranda Cosgrove of Nickelodeon’s “iCarly” would have to do to follow the same destructive path as Miley Cyrus.

Well, the 20-year-old Cosgrove seems to be doing just fine, thankyouverymuch, with no signs of imminent horror on the horizon. But a quick scan through the cast of “iCarly,” which ran between 2007 and 2012 (we are pretty big fans here at Vanya HQ), reveals one shocking truth: Noah Munck, who played the character “Gibby” (no relation to the former Boston scenester who founded Make Out Club), is now a dubstep and EDM producer under the moniker NoxiK. Say what?

Munck, who is now 17 and has been waiting patiently for his own spinoff show to be picked up (we’d be into it), released the Hotline EP back in April and another EP, Boss Flight, is expected later this year.

First Hannah Montana twerks, now iCarly goes dubstep. This is real life.

Check out some of Munck’s tunes…

  1. I think its stupid that you call it a tragedy, this is what he might have wanted all his life, and just because you don’t like the genre dubstep, doesn’t mean you have to call it a tragedy. His music is awesome and I’m so happy for him. Definitely supporting him.
