Massachusetts trio Sebadoh are back with their first new record in 14 years, and we’ve got the prize pack to prove it. We’ve also got Defend Yourself available for your listening pleasure via their Bandcamp below. We hope you didn’t think this was the end.

“We were always going to make another record,” says Lou Barlow in a presser. “There was never any point where we looked at each other and said, ‘That’s it. We’re done.’ We never actually quit at all — we’ve been making music this whole time.”

Over the years, Barlow, Jason Loewenstein, and Bob D’Amico have been busy with everything from solo albums to Dinosaur Jr., Fiery Furnaces, and Folk Implosion, but the Sebadoh name hasn’t breathed air on its own terms since the late ’90s. And this record bears some heavy emotional weight, dealing with Barlow’s recent divorce to his wife of 25 years. “Your greatest victories and your most crushing defeats have a tendency to give birth to one other,” he says.

Fire up the self-recorded Defend Yourself below, and enter to win this exclusive prize pack:

– Special 10-inch EP

– Defend Yourself on red vinyl w/ bonus 7-inch

– Autographed poster

Just answer this question: In which Cambridge rock club did Sebadoh film their music video for “Ocean”? Email your answer to michael@vanyaland.com and we’ll pick a winner at random around noon tomorrow. Much love to Warner Music for the hook-up.
