Another day, another notion of “Ok, now the ’90s are really back.” New York funk-pop girls Luscious Jackson are back in action with new single “Show Us What You Got” and oh my god it feels just like riding the Brooklyn subway on a cool summer day. You can’t bottle that kind of cool.
The Jacksons’ new record Magic Hour is out November 5 on their own imprint City Song, and to celebrate, they’ve announced two reunion shows: November 23 at Union Transfer in Philadelphia and December 7 at Webster Hall in New York City. Tickets to both shows are on sale now.
Magic Hour, Luscious Jackson’s first record in 14 years, was produced by the band’s own Jill Cunniff and Gabby Glaser, with Beastie Boy Adam Horovitz featured on the track “So Rock On”.
The “Show Us What You Got” video was directed by Breeders bassist Josephine Wiggs.
