Cut Copy’s fourth studio album is titled Free Your Mind, and as anyone knows, that’s relatively impossible without doing a bit of personal exploring. So it’s fitting that the Aussie’s electro-pop mavens are back in your mind machine’s music player with latest single “We Are Explorers.”
The track was debuted over the summer at Governor’s Ball in New York City, and a live recording was a minor YouTube hit. But the studio version is a more polished affair, and it re-affirms our suspicion that the immediate future of intelligent dance-pop has a very Madchester vibe to it.
Free Your Mind drops November 5 here in the States and Canada (iTunes pre-order is up), and Cut Copy shows it off the following week with a gig at House of Blues on November 16. The Boston show wraps up a 16-date run that kicks off Sunday in North Carolina.
