So wait, hold up — Spacehog is playing @ the Harp on November 20?

’90s alt-rock luminaries Spacehog are back in action — a new record, a collaboration with Liv Tyler, and a tour that kicks off at the Harp in Boston. Wait, what was that last part?

For some reason, the Leeds + NYC band is playing the North Station bar on November 20 before spending following month touring the United States with Sponge. No, they are not bringing Sponge with them to the Harp — but that doesn’t mean we all won’t be “Plowed” singing along to “In The Meantime.” [cue “wooo-ooohh ooohh ooohh ooohhhhhhh ooh oooh ooooooohhhhhh” or however the fuck it goes spelling that out is harder than it seems.]

The show is part of the Harp’s 20th anniversary, and was originally scheduled for October 15. It’s being dubbed an intimate performance. Check out the press release we just got, as well as tour dates, after the Spacehog + Live Tyler jump…

New York, NY — October 2013: Spacehog returns from performing in Europe to co-headline their first US and Canadian dates with Sponge. Prior to the tour, the band will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of The Harp in Boston on November 20th. A complete schedule of the dates on sale now can be found at Spacehog.com and at the end of this announcement. The band will perform their #1 hit, “In The Meantime”, other classic Spacehog tunes, music from the recently released album As It Is On Earth as well as the brand new track, “You Can’t Go Home Again”, which debuted as a duet between Royston Langdon and Liv Tyler in her live singing debut at the recent Spacehog benefit for the David Lynch Foundation First Responders Initiative with special guests Liv Tyler and Sean Lennon . The live intimate performance was beamed from a NYC rooftop to computers worldwide and was co-created by Royston and Marc Scrivo, who also directed, of STUDIO SCRIVO in Soho, New York. Continue to follow @Spacehog and @LynchFoundation for further collaborations.

“There’s something about playing the great rock club’s around America and Canada and getting to see and feel the energy of the crowd. We’ve just returned from Europe where we had such a wonderful experience performing all of the music – introducing the new and exploring through the older stuff – it was a blast. We are all looking forward to seeing everyone out on the road,” says Royston Langdon, Spacehog’s lead vocalist, bass player and chief songwriter.”
