Local kicks: Converse setting up Boston Rubber Tracks studio, seeks participating bands

For the past few years, a bunch of Boston bands have been going down to New York City to record at the Converse Rubber Tracks studio. Viva Viva crafted part of their Dead In Yr Tracks EP down there, and Bearstronaut, Earthquake Party, and Bodega Girls have also made the trek. Hell, EqP is the “face” of the Converse twitter account.

Well it looks like Converse, a brand with strong local ties and a headquarters in North Andover, is finally bringing their Tracks up north. Boston is the site of a new pop-up studio (along with San Francisco), and Converse is looking for bands to set up shop and record for free.

It makes sense — Converse lately has been booking rad free shows at the Sinclair, recently featuring METZ, Tanlines, Yeasayer, and others, so it’s about time they shined a brighter light on our local scene.

All you gotta do is fill out the form, and be entered to get selected. Easy as pie.
