Miles Kane has been one of our favorite UK artists of the last few years, and now the former Last Shadow Puppet has dipped back into our favor vault by covering the Verve’s “The Drugs Don’t Work.”
Kane unveiled the cover yesterday for YouTube’s Transmitter channel. It’s a pretty faithful rendition, with a nice job channeling Mad Richard, but Kane breathes a bit of new life into the 1997 post-Britpop anthem.
Kane’s second studio album Don’t Forget Who You Are dropped in June, and there’s been word of a possible Last Shadow Puppet reunion, bringing back together the trio that also featured Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys and Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford.
