Tonight! Stream the Boston Music Awards nominee party, live from Redstar in Cambridge

The Boston Music Awards are Sunday night, and it’s a pretty fancy affair. We usually joke that it’s the only time the Liberty Hotel allows scumbags like us into its establishment, and so everyone in the Boston music scene is generally on their best behavior.

But you just can’t take all these bands and DJs and musicians and promoters and writers and whathaveyuou and suddenly throw them into the same room together. No, there’s gotta be a feeling-out process, some casual introductions, a gentle merging of cultures and ideas and egos; kinda like when you bring a new fish into your home aquarium — you let him swim around is his own submerged little plastic baggie before he’s allowed to mingle with the others.

Thankfully, tonight’s the BMAs nominee party at Redstar, and so it’ll give everyone a chance to get used to being around each other before the big bash this weekend. A giant Puppy Patch for the scene, the event features live performances from Young Adults, the New Highway Hymnal, Ruby Rose Fox, and Tigerman WHOA, and can be live streamed via the portal below.

Vanyaland will be on hand to present Young Adults, who are nominated in the Punk Artist of the Year category. The state-spanning trio are up against some tough competition in the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, the Dropkick Murphys, Big D & The Kids Table, and Street Dogs, so they’ll need all the help they can get.

So sit back, relax, and watch us all sniff each others asses at Redstar. We’ll all be friends by Sunday, promise.
