Watch Halston document true holiday spirit in new music video for ‘Christmas’

It’s been two years since Boston pop duo Halston released We’re Doing Christmas, a merry-as-fuck six-song EP that found its best track, “The Snowman’s Waltz,” featured on the Boston Phoenix’s first Holiday EP. Those were the days; we were young, and thought it would last forever. Now the Phoenix is gone, but the spirit remains, and Halston is back on the garland with a new seasonally-appropriate track, perfectly-titled “Christmas.”

It’s an jingleworm of a ditty that sound like heavily gulped eggnog by grandma’s Florida fireplace. Dando Halson reports to the elves at Vanyaland that the video is all documentary footage, shot at the Prudential building on December 11 and 14.

“It’s like Nanook of the North, but set in the Prudential shops, not Alaska,” he writes. “Real live Xmas shoppers in their natural habitat. YOU MAY KNOW SOMEONE IN THIS VIDEO.”

We sure hope so.

Merry Christmas, Halston.
