Bite Me: Speedy Ortiz announce EP release party at Tasty Burger in Harvard Square

Massachusetts rock band Speedy Ortiz just wrapped up a successful touring stint with the Breeders and are playing the Paradise Rock Club tomorrow night (January 21) with Los Campesinos!. So naturally, the sludgy Northampton crew are hosting the record release party for new EP Real Hair at none other than Tasty Burger in Harvard Square.

The meaty bash goes down February 8, is presented by the fine folks at Boston Hassle, and also features the Channels, Sneeze, and Idiot Genes. And it’s all-ages.

That’s one tasty rock show.

If you’re wondering what in the name of Jules Winnfield is going on here, fear not — the decent-sized basement space of Tasty Burger’s Harvard Square shop has built in a new stage and PA set-up, and is looking to start hosting live shows multiple nights a week. The room looks to hold roughly 100 people (though that’s just a guess on our part), depending on what they do with the pool tables. The joint also serves beer and wine and can stay open until 4 a.m. (That’s not a typo — 4 a.m.)

Real Hair is the follow-up to Speedy’s 2013 LP Major Arcana. It was produced by Paul Q. Kolderie and drops February 11 via Carpark Records.
