Morrissey is coming back to Boston, according to Slicing Up Eyeballs. The excellent college rock website did some top-shelf sleuthing and found that Ticketmaster has listed two shows on the Mozzer’s 2014 tour itinerary: May 22 at the Majestic Theatre in Dallas — his 55th birthday! — and here at Boston’s Opera House on June 7.
Ticketmaster says both shows go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. local time. This’ll make a perfect Valentine’s Day gift.
UPDATE 2:50 p.m. EST: The show has now been pulled from Ticketmaster. “This event no longer exists in our database.” Ok, looks like someone jumped the gun. We’ll update this further with an “official” announcement. In the meantime, keep that date circled.
Of course, there’s no “official” word from the Mozzer not Live Nation, so we’ll see if any announcement comes this week.
Last time we were romanced by the allure of Morrissey’s presence, a New York City retailer erroneously publicized a book-signing appearance. And with all the now best-selling author’s health issues causing mass cancellations of live gigs over the past year or so, we can’t be 100% certain this show will actually happen until, oh, right about show time.
But we have hope. In Moz We Trust.
