Four Day Ha-Ha Hole: Bill Nye, John Hodgman, Kristen Schaal highlight May’s Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival

Three years ago at SXSW I was standing outside Klub Krucial on 6th Street in Austin when I asked Eugene Mirman whether or not he’d ride in the front seat or the back seat in Rebecca Black’s video for “Friday.” He had no idea what the fuck I was talking about, as he just wrapped up an appearance at our Boston Phoenix party and the eventual YouTube sensation had only been out for 48 hours. A few years and 65 million views for “Friday” later, I bet Mirman now knows where he wants to sit.

The homegrown comedian might reveal that and more as his Comedy Festival returns to Boston over four nights, taking over the Sinclair and Berklee Performance Center from May 1 to 4. Tickets went on sale today at noon via Bowery Boston.

From the presser: “Joining Eugene will be fellow Massachusetts-raised humorist John Hodgman, “Bob’s Burgers” co-star Kristen Schaal, legendary UK comedian Daniel Kitson, Chelsea Peretti, Wyatt Cenac, Nick Thune, Ken Reid, Mehran Khaghani, and a very special Boston edition of the hit live show and podcast StarTalk Live! with guest host Bill Nye The Science Guy, plus more special guests TBA!”
