John Lydon, the guy from Incubus, and members of N*Sync and Destiny’s Child are now in ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ — and it’s coming to Boston

In a news story that absolutely no one would have believed if it was announced on Tuesday, Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd. singer John Lydon will star as King Herod in a new production of Jesus Christ Superstar.

Joining the former Mr. Johnny Rotten in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous rock opera are Incubus choad Brandon Boyd (as Judas Iscariot), N*SYNC’s JC Chasez (as Pontius Pilate), and Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child (as Mary Magdalene).

Saaaaay whaaaaat?

Perhaps the best news of all is that this shit is hitting the road, and comes to Boston at the end of a lengthy 51-date North American, August 14 at the TD Garden.
