We’ve been spending the morning updating our two Nirvana-related posts with new fan-recorded live videos that have surfaced from last night’s shenanigans in New York, which included first the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame performance at Barclays and then the after-midnight club gig at St. Vitus in Greenpoint.
But this clip, of J Mascis joining Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear for a rousing rendition of “School” deserves a post all its own.
There’s been talk about how the surviving members of Nirvana should take last night’s spectacle on the road — bringing Joan Jett, Kim Gordon, and whomever else along with them — but the real answer might be to christen Nirvana 2.0 with the man from Dinosaur Jr.
Because holy hell is this awesome or what.
