Processed Treats: Listen to the brilliantly polarizing new Kasabian single, ‘Eez-Eh’

“Horsemeat in the burgers/People commit murders/Everyone’s on bugle/We’re being watched by Google,” offers up Kasabian’s Tom Meighan on “Eez-Eh,” the first slice off the British rock band’s new record 48:13.

With a headlining Glastonbury slot, a massive Leicester homecoming gig in June, and the new record, we may be looking at the Summer of K-Sabez.

But this new track is something else entirely, and seems to have split the band’s devoted fan-base. A bubbly electro-pop number with giddy-up on the surface with a coarse lyrical underbelly, to us it sounds like a cross between Miley Cyrus’ “Bangerz” (that vocal hook is all Miley) and XTRMNTR-era Primal Scream.

And that’s one massive compliment coming from our camp. We’ve had it on repeat since it dropped yesterday.

Good to have the lads back, and good to see they’re still making folks uncomfortable.

48:13 is out June 9 via Sony.
