Riot Fest 2014 books pretty much every band ever… and people are still complaining

People, there is just no pleasing them. So when Riot Fest 2014 announced its redonkulous September lineups for Chicago, Denver, and Toronto, it shouldn’t have come as a surprise that some folks were bitching.

Some thought there weren’t enough “punk” bands, others thought it was lame. But it’s hard to argue with the lineups. Chicago alone features roughly 100 bands, including The Cure, Jane’s Addiction, Social Distortion, the National… several dozen others… Pussy Riot, Taking Back Sunday, Slayer, Afghan Whigs, Lucero… a few dozen more… Skaters, Radkey, Mineral, Dropkick Murphys… hell even the Pizza Underground. And Samhain. And Cheap Trick, La Dispute, and PUP. [Peep the full lineup below; there are more than a few “oh shit” bands.]

But the Riot Fest twitter was armed and rearing to go last night, confronting the bitching head on while watching the Chicago Blackhawks take down the Minnesota Wild on an office television. What a life.

Well played, Riot Fest. Full city lineups and dates are below…
