Pretty & Nice had their van burglarized — be on the lookout for stolen gear and instruments

For the second time this week, a Boston band was victimized by a smash-and-grab burglary. After Hallelujah the Hills had their personal belongings and band merch stolen from their tour van during a gig in Oakland on Thursday, Pretty & Nice announced today that their van was broken into recently while parked in Lower Allston. A very large amount of musical gear was stolen.

The guitar-pop band is asking for help, and for people to be on the lookout for the following instruments and gear, many of which are distinctly marked. Second-hand shops, pawn shops, and independent and online music stores and buyers/sellers should also be on alert, as these items could likely walk through the door or show up in listings in the near future.

Here’s the word from the Pretty & Nice dudes:

ICYMI: We got robbed the other day. Long story short, a few relatively unique, very personal instruments/pedals were taken in a smash and grab from our van in Lower Allston at some point in the past week.

The biggest ways that people can help out now are to spread this list to as many people in the Boston/New England area as possible. If you have friends who work at music stores that buy used gear, please forward this list to them. Please “SHARE” this post and tag people who might be able to help us out. We’re in the process of collecting pictures/serial numbers for some of this stuff so stay tuned for that.

Realistic MG-1 (late 70s/early 80s Moog family Synth) – Has a sticker that says “I [bike] Benson” and gold vinyl lettering that reads “Pretty & Nice” [I doubt that it’ll stay stickered up, but who knows] looks like this. Serial: 17364

Two Boss TU-2 Tuning Pedals – Pretty well road-worn, one has a piece of Red electrical tape on it the other has Yellow electrical tape.

ProCo Juggernaut Rat Distortion Pedal – Dual stompbox vintage pedal. Has tape markings showing ideal settings. Road worn. Would look like this new.

Rehoused DOD Bass Grunge Pedal – Rehoused in a plain red case.

Audio Technica System 10 Stompbox Wireless Guitar System – in original bags, no boxes or paperwork. Might be missing power supply.

All of the above were in a black suitcase with (if I remember correctly) a green/yellow Ampersand (&).

Cream Colored Fender Squier Telecaster (various stickers) Serial: IC001018559
Sanatoga Green Telecaster copy

EDIT: The two telecasters were in 2 separate hardshell cases – one standard cream colored Fender case (w both ampersand and weird upside-down heart/bird stencils), and one old grey Ibanez case (w ampersand stencil).

Kustom Kasino CON-L Amp Head (Blue faceplate 70s era solid state [non-tuck and roll]) Serial: 20151

Please please please do everything in your power to help us spread the word about this. Hopefully we can get some of the stuff back. Boston Police D14 (Allston/Brighton) has this list as well.

If you have any leads, please contact Boston Police D14 or us at prettyandnice@gmail.com. Also if you’ve taken any pictures of us/our gear in the past few months, please post those below OR email them to us.

Thank you
