Can I Kick It? Lily Allen releases ‘unofficial World Cup song’ called ‘Bass Like Home’

So maybe you’re just not feeling Pitbull’s official World Cup song, “We Are One (Ole Ole)”? Lily Allen has your back, as she hits the pitch on a new self-released song called “Bass Like Home.”

Allen tweeted: “My unofficial #worldcup song BASS LIKE HOME.”

As the NME notes, “[t]he song does not make explicit reference to football or the World Cup, bar a mention of Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne, but is more broadly an ode to Britain and things Allen loves about the nation including Shakespeare, John Lennon, the Queen, lager and service stations.”

But she does sing about moving your feet, so that’s good enough, too.

The track is not off her latest record, May’s Sheezus, and might be a teaser for a new album, expected sometime next year.

The World Cup runs from June 12 to July 13 in Brazil.
