Here We Go Again: Morrissey cancels June 4 show in Atlanta; Boston date four days away

Oh boy.

We are so close.

So close!

Four days away from performing in Boston, Morrissey has cancelled his show tonight tomorrow night at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center. [Correction: an earlier report stated the show was tonight.]

“According to the show’s promoters, Morrissey, the touring crew and opener Kristeen Young have come down with a virus,” reports Access Atlanta.

Everyone is sick?!?!

In recent years, Morrissey’s tours have been marred — no pun intended — by cancellations and postponements. But things seemed to have been going well on this jaunt, to support his upcoming album, World Peace Is None Of Your Business. And while Boston dealt with Mozzer walking off stage at the Bank of America Pavilion a few years ago (only to return a few months later), he apparently really has it out for Georgia.

This marks the fourth time since December 2012 that the British singer has canceled an Atlanta show (you can follow the timeline here). The tour launched May 7 and is slated to continue through June 21. His next scheduled concert is Friday in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

And the date after that, of course, is Saturday’s show at the Opera House. Let’s hope he’s not Still Ill by then. In the meantime, check out Eddie Japan’s cover of “First Of The Gang To Die,” which we premiered yesterday.
