Vanyaland Premiere: Listen to the fuzzy new single from Buffalo indie-pop trio the Tins

We love so many things that have come out of Buffalo over the years: Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane… Duff’s Famous Wings… Aaron Perrino of the Sheila Divine and Dear Leader. They all pretty much make up for Vincent Gallo, or the “modern” football uniforms the Bills wore from 2002 to 2010, or that one chick I dated from East Amherst. Hell if Domenik Hasek didn’t have to go to Detroit to win a Stanley Cup, it might be the greatest city in the world.

Today we add indie-pop trio the Tins to our list of “loves,” built mainly on the strength of buzzy new single “They Aren’t Evil,” a synthy track as warm as the Buffalo winters are cold. It’s the first taste off new EP Young Blame, out July 29, and is available for pre-order through Bandcamp.

According to the powers that be, Young Blame, as a whole, explores themes of movement. “Young Blame takes what we have learned from our earlier recordings and refines the best parts, putting a greater emphasis on the vocals, the interplay between band members, the combination of electronic and organic elements, and the dynamics throughout each song,” says drummer Muntner.

Check out the kaleidoscopic video for “They Aren’t Evil” below, as well as the band’s latest round of tour dates after the jump. The Tins will be playing Johnny D’s in Somerville on July 18. After a tour kickoff in Buffalo, of course.
