Summer Hibernation: Keytar Bear announces farewell to Boston — until the fall

School’s out for summer — and now so is Keytar Bear. The Boston street performer is hibernating for the summer… because, well, do you know how hot it gets under that fuzzy-ass bear suit?

Our beloved Bear, who’s become a local celebrity in 2014, posted this note to his We Love Keytar Bear Facebook page this morning, bidding farewell before the holiday weekend turns our attention to cookouts and BBQs.

My dearly beloved Boston – The time is here for me to say farewell for the summer. I will be back on the street in the fall with more funky song stylings for your ears. Thank you eternally for lifting me up when I was knocked down last spring. Your love and support changed my life in ways I never imagined before. I look forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces again soon. Have a fun and safe summer.

yours truly, xoxoxo

The Bear also noted that he’s currently booking gigs for “Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas — and private events—office gatherings, birthday parties, weddings, and more!”

Keytar Bear asks that all inquiries be sent to the above Facebook page.

As we noted a few weeks ago, Keytar Bear is making his major music festival debut later this summer in Pennsylvania, when he performs at the 2014 Campfire Outdoor Adventure & Music Festival. It goes down August 29 to 31 in Lakewood, PA, and is headlined by Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Delta Spirit, Lake Street Dive, and dozens of others. The poster is below; his name is bottom right.
