Pony Up: Help name Great Scott’s obnoxious/awesome new velvet horse painting

Allston rock club Great Scott has just made a new edition to its decor — a super-sized ’70s-era velvet horse painting that talent buyer Carl Lavin masterfully picked up at this past weekend’s Starlabfest.

Art collecting may be easy, but naming these pieces sure is not, so the venue is asking the good people of the Rock City to chip in some suggestions. And there be a prize.

Listen up folks! We’ve just installed a very important piece of decor in our venue, but the beauty still needs a name. Here’s where you come in: comment with your suggestions, and we’ll narrow it down to our favorites and put it to a vote. Winner gets naming rights & a pair of tickets to ANY one of our upcoming shows!

There are more than 50 suggestions right now on Great Scott’s Facebook page, and while we don’t think anyone will beat Shane Artsy’s brilliant “Michael Ma-Trot-Ta” entry, you may as well try anyway.

Here’s the beast in all its equine glory…
