Polished Prism: Graffiti promoting Katy Perry’s October 2013 record is still defacing Brooklyn

And people say wheatpaste is bad.

Apparently graffiti hyping Katy Perry’s October release of Prism can still be seen on the sidewalks of Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, where the singer is performing tonight for the first of two shows (the other is tomorrow).

Stereogum founder and editor-in-chief Scott Lapatine tweeted out the photo below a little before 11 p.m. EST.

The graffiti has Perry’s Prism logo with the date “10-22-13” underneath, which is the global release date for the physical record (it was available to stream starting October 18). So while someone could have theoretically added the street promo just this week to hype her current New York shows, chances are they’d have update their stencil.

So that shit’s probably been there since at least October. It does look weathered and worm-in, too.

By the way, speaking of updated new releases, “This Is How We Do,” the fifth single off Prism, is out July 28.
