Get Comfortable: Pop project Sinnet invites you to their ‘Pink Flamingo Hotels’

And suddenly, it’s Indie-Pop Wednesday. Take that, Godsmack Day.

Earlier today we hyped the fantastic new record from Boston jangle-pop heroes the Sterns, and now along comes a catchy new tune from Sinnet, who have shown us the results of their recent Converse Rubber Tracks session. The track’s called “Pink Flamingo Hotels,” and it’s a bit of a throwback joint for Sinnet ringleader Aaron Spransy; it was originally a song from his Milwaukee-based band Those Royals, back when he called the Midwest home.

“Pink Flamingo Hotels” was initially recorded at Q Division with Matt Beaudoin, and then in Arlington with Matt Girard of Parks, Motion Sick, and Neutral Uke Hotel fame. It also features guitar work from Those Royals ex-pat Jasen Kinart, so it’s really a full-circle endeavor for Spransy.

Check it out below via Bandcamp, as well as the single’s double-a-side companion “An Introduction,” then catch Sinnet twice this month: firstly at Cambridge’s Atwoods Tavern on August 14 with the Fatty Acids, and then across the ‘Bridge at T.T. The Bear’s Place on August 24 with Twin Brother, Old Earth, and the Laszlos.
