Listen to Kasabian turn Iggy Azalea’s ‘Fancy’ into a smooth soft rock jam with nods to the Doors and DJ Shadow

It’s no secret that we have a “Fancy” fetish over here at Vanya HQ, as we’ve been bumping Iggy Azalea’s mega-jam pretty much non-stop since it dropped in February. We’ve declared it the Song of the Summer (until “Boom Clap” came along”), we’ve heard it on Good Morning America, and heard it while Azalea fell off a stage. We’ve posted mash-ups with Reba McIntyre, Jimmy Fallon covering it as Neil Young, and a live piano take by the Killers, and Lil’ Kim’s recent remix.

It’s been a “Fancy” fucking year.

But now along comes British rock band Kasabian to call it a day with the best cover of “Fancy” we’ve heard just yet, taking to the Radio 1 Live Lounge on September 1 and dropping a smoothed-out full-song jam session. There’s even a mid-track breakdown at 1:56 that’s a nod to both the Doors’ “Riders On The Storm” and DJ Shadow’s “Organ Donor.”

And we thought Kasabian covering the Sesame Street theme mashed with the Beach Boys would be their finest salute this summer.

Hot damn.

Just let this one ride…
