Not A Citizen King Cover: Listen to the new Bad Rabbits single, ‘Better Days’

For the past 15 years, every time someone says the words “Better Days,” I end up getting that damn soft-serve FM pop Citizen King song stuck in my head. Thankfully, Bad Rabbits are here to end that decade-and-a-half of pure horror and wash my mind clean.

Today the Boston post-R&B crew dropped “Better Days” via the Huffington Post, and it’s the first taste of a new full-length record coming sometime in 2015. The track is a euphoric funk cruiser that continues that jaw-drop seduction sound the Rabbits whipped up on last year’s American Love LP, and brought to nearly every city on this continent over this summer’s Warped Tour.

And the jam, produced by David Kahne (Lana Del Ray, Sublime) is all about feeling that groove within the headphones. Here’s what Bad Rabbits Sheel Davé told HuffPo: “‘Better Days’ is a song for the underdogs. We wanted the song to represent the light at the end of the tunnel: popping corks & victory dances, per se…. Picture yourself in a flock of sardined, emotionless people using public transit and you notice one person in the midst of it all, smiling with headphones on. That person is probably listening to this song.”
