When Lorde headlined Boston Calling a few weeks ago, we immediately realized three things: one, we’ve all heard “Royals,” “Team,” and “Tennis Court” about a gazillion times over the past year; two, they hold up no matter how many listens; and three, yeah we need some new music from the New Zealand mega-star.
And today, we has it.
“Yellow Flicker Beat,” which you can hear below, is a haunting pop number and the first taste of new music from Lorde since breakout record Pure Heroine. The track is featured on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 soundtrack, which she curated.
The film is out November 21.
