The nominations in the 2014 Boston Music Awards were announced moment ago at the Lawn On D’s Sound Of Our Town Festival, and it’s clear we are all just living in Will Dailey’s world. The singer-songwriter has three BMA nods this year, including Artist of the Year and Record of the Year, for his charting National Throat effort. Other nominations in the Best Record category include D-Tension, Hallelujah The Hills, Magic Man, and Quilt.

Lake Street Dive actually lead the list with four nominations, in categories for Artist, Song (“Bad Self Portraits), Jazz, and Best Boston Artist That Doesn’t Live In Boston.

The nominations for Artist of the Year are Dailey, Bad Rabbits, Lake Street Dive, and Sound Of Our Town performers Dutch ReBelle and Speedy Ortiz.

Dutch ReBelle is also up for three awards, adding to Artist of the Year nods in the Hip-Hop and Song (“Yen”) categories.

Because we’re still hosting Sound Of Our Town out in South Boston today — we had the honor of announcing the nominations on stage with BMA producer Jake Brennan — we’ll save the commentary for another day and just list the names below.

We will note, however, that we’re again up for Best Music Blog. But it’s a jam-packed category — we respect and enjoy the varied work of Allston Pudding, Boston Hassle, Daykamp Music, and Jed Gottlieb’s Guestlisted — so all bets are off there.
