Shelter Me: Listen to the bands performing at tonight’s Keep Safe Boston benefit in Allston

The Color And Sound

Last month Anngelle Wood threw down the gauntlet — a 50-band local music compilation aimed at raising awareness and money for Planned Parenthood. Keep Safe Boston, its moniker taken from her community organization of the same name, featured a slew of exclusive tracks and new jams, including fresh servings by perennial Vanya faves Petty Morals, Blackbutton, Hallelujah the Hills, and others.

Tonight, on Human Rights Day, the compilation gets the release party treatment with a blowout fund-raiser event at Brighton Music Hall in Allston that also benefits Planned Parenthood. We asked Wood what one can expect this evening.

“What we can expect is the continued grace that is the Boston Music Community,” she tells Vanyaland. “I am grateful and humbled at how beautifully the KeepSafeBoston benefit is coming together… It is a genuine community effort. We have all hands on deck.”

Adding hands to tonight’s entertainment deck are live performances by Jass Bianchi, Parlour Bells, The Color and Sound, Corin Ashley, Drab, the Rationales, and special guest openers CLUB GRCB, the Girls Rock Campaign Boston’s after school program for girls from 7th to 11th grades. The night is hosted by comedian Jody Sloane.

While those are relatively familiar names, feel free to get fully acquainted with the performing bands via their respective Bandcamp links below.
