Ray Of Plight: Madonna desecrates civil rights icons with bondage rope to promote new album

The past few years have seen the likes of Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber do outrageous shit in order to grab digital headlines. We’re only two days into 2015, but it appears to already be Madonna’s year in that regard. Not too long after she compared leaks of new songs from her upcoming Rebel Heart album to that of “artistic rape,” the seasoned pop-star veteran has enlisted the likes of Bob Marley, Martin Luther King Jr., and Nelson Mandela to help promote the record.

Posting to Instagram last night, Madonna decorated those three civil rights icons in black bondage rope, the same look she herself appears in on the Rebel Heart artwork.

She then took it a step further with some ridiculous captioning.

Of Marley, she writes: “This❤️#rebelheart sang about ONE LOVE!”

Of King, she writes: “This ❤️#rebelheart had a dream!”

Of Mendela, she writes: “This❤️#rebelheart fought for freedom!”

This tactic is nothing new, really. In the past few weeks she’s wrapped Frida Kahlo, Lady Gaga, and Marilyn Monroe in the black rope, but this round of figures seems a bit much.

Rebel Heart, if you dare, care or are not aware, is out March 10.
