In a few short months, Vanyaland is once again teaming up with Berklee College of Music for the Boston & Beyond party at South-By-Southwest. Last week we began the process of selecting the participating bands and artists, and we want to open the discussion to any and all eligible bands.
This year’s party goes down the afternoon of March 19 at Brush Square Park, an outdoor tent space right in the center of Austin’s annual chaos. To play Boston & Beyond, each band must have a specific link to Berklee — either as a current student or alumni.
Want to be included in the discussion, which includes the Vanyaland executive board and a panel of distinguished Berklee personnel? Sent us your music, with an explanation of your Berklee connection, and we’ll add it into the mix at our weekly meetings. To make things simple, use our new Upload feature, and be sure to mention SXSW in the info boxes.
There will also be a chance to submit through SonicBids in the next few weeks, as well.
Last year’s Boston & Beyond party included performances by the Field Effect, Air Traffic Controller, Evolfo, the Rare Occasions, Cask Mouse, Los Rumberos, Elizabeth & the Catapult, and others. Performing bands represent the Berklee music scene, as well as the school’s live music venue, the Red Room at Cafe 939 and its own Heavy Rotation Records.
