It’s been a strange week in Nirvana news, and we’re not even at Wednesday yet.
First it was revealed that the new HBO documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck would feature “previously unheard originals” from the late musician, and yesterday, a rare, seldom-heard bootleg of Nirvana’s January 12, 1990 performance at Satyricon in Portland, Oregon — the night Cobain infamously met Courtney Love — surfaced online, 25 years to the day.
So clearly something either truly magical or totally fucked up would have to top all that.
Enter the latter.
Cobain’s suicide note has been replicated for fashion purposes, appearing on a baseball shirt that anyone can buy on eBay for $25.19. A Thailand-based seller named nuchyk is peddling the designs, and has already sold 21 of them. They come with either red or black sleeves, depending on your mood for completely reprehensible clothing choices.
Before hitting eBay, a similar shirt was being shopped on Etsy, until a Reddit discussion brought a bit too much attention to it, forcing the item to be withdrawn. Styleite has a screen-shot.
