Life Without Walla: Stream the moody new Death Cab For Cutie single, ‘Black Sun’

As the New England Patriots prepare to take on the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl this weekend, we’re supposed to be ignoring everything from the Pacific Northwest, from their coffee to movies to music. So we’re gonna be hush-hush here for the new single from Death Cab For Cutie, “Black Sun,” which just dropped to radio this morning.

The new single is the lead track off Death Cab’s upcoming album Kintsugi, which is out March 31 via Atlantic, but the bigger news of that it’s the first bit of new material since founding guitarist Chris Walla announced his departure from the veteran band after 17 years last summer.

Listen to the moody, subtle “Black Sun” below, and set your DVRs: Death Cab plays The Late Show with David Letterman on January 30. As an added bonus, some tours dates have also surfaced.
