Primal Scream owed us a solid, and now they’re giving us one.

After canceling a short stateside run last year that would have seen the enduring Scottish band play a rare Boston show, Bobby Gillespie and crew have announced a springtime jaunt that swings by Royale on May 17. Tickets go on sale Friday.

In full, this Primal Scream tour a nine-date run that kicks off May 9 at Austin Psych Fest’s three-day Levitation festival with the Jesus and Mary Chain, Tame Impala, Spiritualized and a few dozen others.

According to Slicing Up Eyeballs, the current Primal Scream lineup behind Gillespie includes Andrew Innes, Martin Duffy, Darrin Mooney, Barrie Cadogan and Simone Butler. Primal Scream’s last album, More Light, dropped in 2013, and we’re still bumping “It’s Alright, It’s Ok” on the reg at VanyaRadio.
