Passion Pit will release their third album in April, and it will be called Kindred. The Boston-born electro-pop project has been teasing new images on Twitter over the past few days (including a tweet with some good old-fashioned morse code), and yesterday released a 12-second YouTube video with the header: “That flickering light’s just a flame.”

Watch it below.

Currently, the band’s homepage, passionpitmusic.com, redirects to a page titled kindredthealbum.com. The site lists a handful of live dates for March and May, but no Boston stops.

Stereogum noted a few weeks ago that frontman and songwriter Michael Angelakos had been posting unreleased demos to Soundcloud under the name Eastern Shift, but no word if any of those tracks will make it on to Kindred.

The new album will be Passion Pit’s first since sophomore effort Gossamer, which dropped in July 2012. It will be released on Columbia Records.
