Howlin’ Swoon: Belfast quartet Go Wolf show off an ’80s synth-pop shimmer on ‘Slow Burn’

Sometime last year Northern Ireland alt-pop quartet Go Wolf crashed the VanyaRadio playlists with “One More Night”, a track destined for peak spins at indie dance nights across the globe if indie dance nights were still actually a thing.

Now the Go Wolf guys and gal are taking a sleeker approach to electronic pop with “Slow Burn,” the moody purple to the hot pink of “One More Night” and the latest from the band’s upcoming EP Running, out March 17 on Ooh La La Records.

There’s even some saxophone involved here, and it might be the best bit of synth-pop sax since M83’s “Midnight City.”

To celebrate the new release — and this pretty ace tune — Go Wolf are playing a handful of dates at SXSW next month, which means they’re now near the top of our list of must-see artists down in Austin, Texas. Check out “Slow Burn” via Soundcloud below, and scan their detailed SXSW run after you click “play.”
