For Today: Watch Blur perform new album ‘The Magic Whip’ via Youtube stream

As we noted earlier in the week, Blur are now three-for-three when it comes to excellent new singles from their upcoming album The Magic Whip. This afternoon, we’ll get a chance to hear the whole thing.

YouTube’s Beats By Dre channel will broadcast a pre-recorded live performance from the reunited Kings of Britpop (sorry Oasis) today starting at 8 p.m. GMT in the United Kingdom — which would translate to around 4 p.m. on the East Coast here in Boston (advance promo for the stream says it’ll air at 11 p.m. our time, so maybe it’ll repeat then).

The set was recorded last Friday night in front of 300 fans at London’s intimate venue Mode, which would be kind of like Blur playing at Great Scott or T.T. The Bear’s Place.

“We’re going to play our new record The Magic Whip in sequence from beginning to end,” says frontman Damon Albarn, via the NME. “Are you ready?”

Yes, Damon. We are ready.

Watch the stream via the link below, and take note: Blur’s new record The Magic Whip arrives April 27.
