All MS MR do is write jams. The duo of Max Hershenow and Neon Gold queen Lizzy Plapinger are back today with “Painted,” another livewire track in their ongoing attempt at rewriting the rules of pop. “Painted” is as thunderous and frenetic as a “comeback” single should be, but the Brooklyn electro-pop duo isn’t really coming back from anything; they’re just reminding us who runs this shit. MS MR have a bunch of high-profile show dates this summer — including Lollapalooza in Chicago, Osheaga in Montreal, and Berlin’s Lolla chapter come September — but nothing Boston-specific just yet. We shall hold tight.
