Ship Not Wrecked: Florence Welch breaks foot at Coachella, promises ‘stripped back’ live shows

Building up to the spring release of their highly anticipated new album, Florence & the Machine have been riding high for most of 2015. Yesterday, Welch revealed via Facebook that she suffered the injury, and it will affect her live shows moving forward, including a June 10 date at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion in Boston. She hopes to be back on her feet by Glastonbury, which starts June 24, but in the mean time will perform “somewhat stripped back” performances. Coincidentally, Florence & the Machine’s new record, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, is out May 29.

“I understand this is not what you were expecting, but I hope it’s just as enjoyable,” she pleaded to her fans. “I’m going to try and make it super special for you.”
