Photo Gallery: The Replacements, Dinosaur Jr., the Young Leaves for Converse Rubber Tracks Live @ the Sinclair

Editor’s Note: Perhaps the toughest ticket in town so far in 2015, Converse’s Rubber Tracks Live series kicked off last night at the Sinclair in Cambridge. The Replacements, Dinosaur Jr., and the Young Leaves opened the week-long run of free shows at the intimate Harvard Square venue with a trio of big, loud performances. Boston rock trio the Young Leaves showed the impact and influence of the headliners isn’t lost on the youth of today, while Dinosaur Jr. played perhaps the loudest set ever at the Sinclair (until Slayer shows up on Wednesday). Headliners the Replacements delivered a raucous and seemingly endless set of hits and near misses, including standouts “Can’t Hardly Wait,” “Bastards Of Young,” and closer “Alex Chilton,” as well as a new song, “Whole Foods Blues,” and a few covers (The Only Ones, T-Rex).

Matthew Shelter was on hand to capture the magic for Vanyaland. Converse Rubber Tracks Live continues tonight with Passion Pit, Baths, and Radclyffe Hall; the RSVP list is closed.
