Liam Gallagher has declared Blur’s “Lonesome Street” the best song of 2015!
The former Oasis frontman made the rather unexpected statement this morning via Twitter. “Lonesome Street” is the latest single from Blur’s massive, chart-topping comeback record, The Magic Whip, and while it has been universally praised by fans and critics, it has now gotten the approval of one of Blur’s greatest detractors.
Someone get the editors of Select Magazine, the NME, and Melody Maker on Line 1, because this is the biggest Britpop news since “Country House” and “Roll With It” were released 20 years ago this August.
Does this mean Britpop’s fiercest battle — the ones not involving Justine Frischmann, at least — has finally been settled?
