Bono Drag: Watch the U2 frontman pay tribute to Morrissey at a recent Los Angeles concert

We don’t know if Morrissey will always be true to U2, but we do know that Bono has love for the Mozzer.

At U2 concert at the Forum in Los Angeles earlier this week, Bono took a moment to give props to the former Smiths singer as a fan reached out to hand him flowers.

“One of my favorite performers is Steven Morrissey,” Bono says, casually ignoring Moz’s middle name. “And he has a great thing where he throws gladioli into the crowd.”

That is true. He does that. He also sticks them in the back of his pants but Bono didn’t seem to want to go that far. Video of the spontaneous shout-out was captured by a Morrissey and U2 fan named Richardo and posted to Instagram yesterday. Watch it on a loop below.

Meanwhile, both artists will soon be coming to Massachusetts: Morrissey has a rare Worcester date at the Hanover Theatre on June 24, while U2 perform four nights at the TD Garden in Boston: July 10, 11, 14, and 15.
