The Zookeeper’s Tour: Mew announce North American dates, including Boston show

It’s been nearly six years since Danish alt-rock band Mew traversed our United States, but vocalist Jonas Bjerre and the lads have just announced a 16-date North American tour for this fall. And it includes a tour-wrapping October 11 show at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston.

“We are thrilled that we will finally be returning to North America to tour,” says Bjerre in a presser. “It’s been too long and we can’t wait to play for our U.S. and Canadian fans again.”

This three-week romp through our continent begins in San Diego and is in support of soaring new record + –, which dropped back in April off Play It Again Sam. The Dodos have been tapped to support all dates and tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, June 12 (Mew fan club presale begins tomorrow).

Some added deets:

On these dates, Mew – Jonas Bjerre/vocals, Bo Madsen/guitar, Silke Utke Graae Jorgensen/drums and bassist Johan Wohlert (recently reunited as its original four-piece with the return of Wohlert) – will utilize video, LED trees and other special lighting to create a quixotic experience for concert-goers. The set list will include fan-favorites such as “Zookeeper’s Boy,” “Am I Wry? No,” “Comforting Sounds,” and “Snow Brigade,” interspersed seamlessly alongside new tracks like “Satellites,” “Water Slides,” and “Witness.”
