Massachusetts guitar-pop wonder Funeral Advantage announce debut LP, release video for melodic single ‘Sisters’

We can’t believe it has been nearly two years since Funeral Advantage released their split 7-inch with Catenine off Disposable America Records, a sturdy piece of vinyl that’s endured a significant number of spins here at Vanya HQ.

Since then we’ve followed the dream-pop stylings of Funeral Advantage brain Tyler Kershaw, and though we’ve still not totally worn out the project’s April split with Former Ghosts, they (it?) are back with another sterling new track, the hazy, gazey “Sisters.”

The loose, carefree song continues Kershaw’s penchant for melodic, breezy guitar-pop, but we can detect a nice sense of musical evolutions within the track as well.

The video for “Sisters” premiered this morning on BrooklynVegan, and you can watch it undeterred via YouTube embed below.

As part of the video premiere, Funeral Advantage also announced their debut album, Body Is Dead, is due August 25 via the Native Sound, and you can pre-order it here. Peep the album art after you’re done scoping the video, which finds our hero out in some beautiful open spaces.
