Kindness Is Charade: Listen to Crystal Castles’ piercing new electronic pop banger, ‘Deicide’


The departure of vocalist Alice Glass has not slowed down Crystal Castles.

The Canadian electronic-punk project of Ethan Kath has continued on after the loss of Glass, who left the band back in October, and today unexpectedly dropped a new track, the piercing “Deicide.” The credits say it was written and produced by Kath, with Edith on vocals (no last name given). Engineers Alex Zelenka and Samuel Jacob also worked on “Deicide,” and it was mixed by Patrick Mundy. Some have speculated on the internet that “Edith” is merely Kath distorting his own vocals. We shall see.

“Sincere thank you for the support,” Kath writes today, via the NME. “A new Crystal Castles album is on the way, ‘Frail’ and ‘Deicide’ are just a peak at what’s to come.”

“Frail” was released back in April, and was a good reminder that Crystal Castles are still very much a thing. Listen to “Deicide” below…
