Home Field: Watch Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler join Zac Brown Band on stage at Fenway Park

Tonight’s Zac Brown Band show at Fenway Park was notable in that it marked the first time a band or performer played three straight sold-out nights at the historic ballpark, a feat that amazingly wasn’t done previously by the Police, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews, the Foo Fighters, or anyone else who has performed in the shadow of the Green Monster.

So in the country group’s unfamiliar territory of Night #3 of their record-breaking triple-header at Fenway, Brown and his boys from Georgia brought out something very familiar to Boston: Mr. Steven Tyler.

The homegrown frontman, who has his own country thing going on — when not touring with Aerosmith or texting Lenny Kravitz about penises — was Zac Brown Band’s surprise guest tonight, taking vocal duties on renditions of “Sweet Emotion” and “Walk This Way.”

It’s a much better look than covering Fenway favorite “Sweet Caroline,” which Zac Brown Band did earlier in the weekend — without Neil Diamond.
